Michelle Campbell put her dreams on pause while raising her son. Now, that he is an adult, she decided to focus on herself and turned to Laurel Ridge Community College to make that happen.

Elaine is currently in the certified clinical medical assistant program with a plan to graduate the same year her kids graduate high school, and on her path to becoming an RN or critical care medic.

Before coming to Laurel Ridge, Isabel Reinitz struggled with math, and was unsure if she could afford college or even what she wanted to study. At Laurel Ridge, she became an A student and is transferring to Virginia Tech this fall.
Mary Hess already had a bachelor’s degree in history and more than a decade working with the State Department before coming to Laurel Ridge. She thrived in her second round of college and is applying to grad school.
