You are almost there, congratulations! Completing a degree, certificate or career studies certificate is an exciting milestone in your educational journey. Complete the steps below to become a college graduate.  

Graduation Requirements 

  1. Run your degree progress report in SIS to make sure you have satisfied all requirements for your program of study. If any course requirements are not satisfied, contact your academic advisor.  
  2. Complete a minimum of 25 percent of the total credit hours required in the curriculum at the college.
  3. Have a minimum GPA (grade-point average) of 2.0.
  4. Resolve all financial obligations to the college and return all library books.  

        Apply to Graduate  

        Students must officially apply for graduation online through their SIS (Student Information System) Account.  

        • Login to MyLaurel Ridge 
        • Click on SIS (Student Information System) 
        • Click Academic Records & Progress 
        • Click Apply for Graduation 

        Deadlines Dates to Apply 

        • Fall: November 15
        • Spring: April 15
        • Summer: July 15

        Student Loan Borrowers: Complete Loan Exit Counseling requirements with the Financial Aid Office.  

        Confirmation 

        When you submit your graduation application, you will see a confirmation page. The Graduation Specialist will send an email to your VCCS email address within two weeks of submitting your application.

        Diplomas 

        • All paper diplomas will be sent to your mailing address listed in your SIS approximately 4 to 6 weeks after the grades have been posted for the semester.  
        • A digital copy of your diploma will be emailed to your student email.  once the Graduation Specialist has placed the order for the diplomas.  

        Final Transcripts  

        Your degree, Certificate and/or Career Studies Certificate will be added to your record and will appear on your transcript after final grades have been posted at the end of the semester. Records will be updated as soon as possible and could take up to four weeks. Check your records to ensure all grades, certificates, or degrees have been posted.
