Reserve Tickets (required for all guests)
All events will take place outside (rain or shine) at the Middletown Campus, 173 Skirmisher Lane, Middletown, VA.
Each graduate can reserve five electronic tickets for the seated area. Graduates can also reserve five electronic tickets for the general admission area.
Commencement Ceremonies
- Health Professions Commencement – Friday, May 13 at 2 p.m.
- Commencement – Saturday, May 14 at 11 a.m.
Pinning Ceremonies – Friday, May 13 at 4 p.m.
Graduate Arrival and Check-In
Friday, May 13 – Graduates should plan to arrive at 12:30 p.m. and enter the college through the Toxopeus Welcome Center. Once inside, you will be directed to check in.
Saturday, May 14 – Graduates should plan to arrive at 9:30 a.m. and enter the college through the Toxopeus Welcome Center. Once inside, you will be directed to check in.
Cap and Gown
Graduates must purchase cap and gowns from the college bookstore. Purchase your cap and gown and more before May 13 here.
Diploma
Diploma’s will be mailed to each graduate 6 weeks from the date of Commencement. Extra Laurel Ridge diploma covers will be available at the commencement ceremonies or can be requested by emailing [email protected].
Parking
Parking lots on campus during the ceremonies are open and free for guest parking. Accessible and special-assistance parking is available.

Photography
A professional photographer will attempt capture as many graduates walking off the stage as possible (though a photograph of every graduate cannot be guaranteed). Photos will be posted online and available for download at no cost.
Guest Seating
- Guests should enter the college through the Toxopeus Welcome Center at the front of Cornerstone Hall. View the Middletown Campus Map.
- Guests will be permitted to enter the commencement ceremony area one hour before the start of the ceremony.
- Anyone not seated by the time the processional begins will need to wait until the graduates are on the field before being admitted.
- Seated Tickets: Guests will be directed to the ceremony site where ushers will assist them to the chairs provided
- General Admission Tickets: Bring your own seats or blanket. Guests will be directed to the ceremony site where ushers will escort them to the general admission area.
Faculty, Platform Party, and Board Members
- Friday, May 13 – Arrive at 1 p.m. and proceed to rooms 601/602/603 in Cornerstone Hall
- Saturday, May 14 – Arrive at 10 a.m. and proceed to rooms 601/602/603 in Cornerstone Hall
- Light refreshments will be offered.
- Faculty Regalia: If you need regalia for the ceremony, please place your order with the bookstore by May 1.
Covid-19 Prevention
As of March 14, 2022, face coverings are optional for all students, employees, and guests at all of our locations. Please keep in mind that anyone who still wants to wear a mask is encouraged to do so. While masks will become optional, we will continue to support other mitigation strategies such as increased air flow, enhanced cleaning, and plexiglass barriers where requested. Learn more here.
