Federal Verification Process

We are pleased to announce we have established a partnership with Inceptia to expedite the federal verification process for Laurel Ridge Community College. Verification Gateway (VG) from Inceptia is an online portal to guide students and parents through verification.

If your FAFSA application is selected for verification by the U.S Department of Education, you will receive an email from [email protected], or postcard from Inceptia, containing Laurel Ridge Community College unique website link to start the verification process.

We encourage you to begin the verification process within 7 days of receiving notification from Verification Gateway to ensure you receive your financial aid in time for payments. Failure to complete the verification process could result in the delay or denial of your financial aid.

Follow these steps to complete your verification.

  • Access our school’s unique website link in the email from [email protected] or listed below.
  • Create your account* and choose preferences for text messages and e-signatures.
  • Complete your Task List.
  • Confirm your signature and review your information.
  • Sign your account.

*If you are a dependent student, your parent also needs to create their own account and complete each of these steps.

    PJ (Professional Judgement)/Financial Aid Appeal Process

    First, complete the Request for Review Form below and return it to the Financial Aid Office in-person or email it to [email protected].

    What Happens Next?

    We are pleased to announce we have established a partnership with Inceptia to expedite the financial aid appeal process for Laurel Ridge Community College using PJ Advisor. PJ Advisor from Inceptia is an accessible, intuitive tool that will guide you through the process to request a professional judgment/appeal.

    Please note the deadline for submitting an appeal is June 30, 2023.

    You may access PJ Advisor at: https://inceptia.org/pjadvisor/laurelridge2023. You (or a parent, spouse, or legal guardian) will need to do the following:

    • Create a secure user name and password.
    • Select your dependency status as reported on the FAFSA.
    • Answer the pre-screening questions and select your appeal category.
    • Explain your situation in detail, upload supporting documentation, and submit.
    • Print, sign*, and upload the signature page.

    *Dependent students that provided parental information on the FAFSA are required to have one parent signature on the signature page once all documentation has been submitted.

    Upon receipt of all required documents, Inceptia will conduct a preliminary review to ensure the submission is accurate and complete. You will be notified via email if there are any questions or if any additional documentation is required. Once the submission is verified as complete, it will be sent to your school’s financial aid office for final review and determination. Your school will contact you with the results.
