How to use Montgomery GI Bill® Selected Reserve

• Find out if you can use more than 1 education benefit

1. Initial VA benefit application or update your school on file in the VA system
2. Provide benefit documentation to Laurel Ridge Veteran Services:
   • Certificate of Eligibility
   • If benefit application is complete, you may Download VA education letter
3. Submit Laurel Ridge VA certification request form
4. Send official transcripts
   • Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, and Navy
   • Air Force
   • All college transcripts
5. Make an appointment with
   • Military Benefits Official, Sharon Painter
   • Veteran Academic Advisor, Jeanmarie Corrado
6. Enroll in courses required for VA approved degree/certificate
7. Pay tuition and fees
8. Attend and complete the course(s)
9. VYE (Verify Your Enrollment) on the last day of every month to receive stipend.

• Benefit pays a monthly stipend to student based on days of enrollment.

*Rate is effective October 1, 2024.

• Student is responsible for all tuition, fees and books
• Students are requested to obtain funding or pay full balance prior to the term
• Can be used at the same time as state education reimbursement, such as VANG tuition reimbursement
• Cannot be used at the same time as federal tuition assistance, such as Army TA
• Students using military education benefits can also use financial aid (FAFSA)
• Reductions in enrollment may cause a debt to student
