Mindfulness Training for Parent Scholars

Are you a parenting student interested in learning strategies to help you cope with stress? Sign up for mindfulness training, with the option of being part of study happening right here at Laurel Ridge!

Who Can participate?
Laurel Ridge students who consider themselves parents of a child under 18.
When?
Wednesday, September 3, 10, 17, 24
Pick a session each Wednesday of September: 9:30 a.m., 4:00 p.m., and 6:30 p.m.
What Is Happening?
There will be 4 in-person classes on mindfulness, teaching you skills that might help with stress and coping. Feel free to bring your child and have them with you. It will be a relaxed and fun environment. Classes will be held in the Cub House (our family-friendly study lounge) at 9:30 a.m., 4:00 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. Come to either one. Bring a yoga mat if you like, but we’ll have plenty available. If being on the floor isn’t comfortable, you can sit in a chair. Dress comfortably.
- Week 1: Orientation & Body Scan
- Week 2: Yoga/Mindful Movement
- Week 3: Guided Meditation – very guided; mindful listening and speech
- Week 4: Guided Meditation – less guided
