Monday, September 23 @ 5:00 PM - Wednesday, October 30 @ 8:00 PM

This course builds knowledge and skills in the fundamentals of industrial electric motor controllers and is designed to be the first course in the Applied Level of Mechatronics. The course is specially designed to develop soft skills in addition to technical skills. Students will learn how to troubleshoot faults which is a must to be properly prepared for the workplace. First, students will be introduced to the operation of individual components, then be provided hands-on application opportunities to use them in realistic, industrial motor control circuits. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to install, commission and troubleshoot the most common electric motor controllers using contactors and relays. Successful completers will receive an NC3 credential in Applied Industrial Motor Controls.

Prerequisite: Fundamentals of Electricity.
