Funds raised will support The Recovery Connection Scholarship in Honor of Alex Burton.
A graduate and employee of Laurel Ridge, Alex Burton (’12) was proud of her sobriety and the life she built in recovery. She passed away in 2022 after a courageous five-year battle with breast cancer. Established in her honor, this special scholarship supports Laurel Ridge students who are in recovery. Alex Burton was a co-founder of the CHASE committee, which supports Laurel Ridge employee health and wellness.

5K Run / Walk
- Entry Fees: Early registration (by Sept. 7): $30. Late registration: $35. No in-person race day registration will be available. No pets, strollers, or headphones. $2 discount for Shenandoah Valley Runners members.
- Awards: Awards will be given to the top three males and females in each age group.
- Age Groups: 10 & under, 11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
- Course Description: Multi-surface course on Laurel Ridge campus. NO PETS ALLOWED.
- Amenities: Post-race refreshments, restrooms in the Student Union Building.
- Parking: Free parking (look for directional/parking signs when entering campus)
