Whether you’re facing a brain-teasing question, lost in the application maze, or feeling overwhelmed by the financial aid apocalypse, our FAFSA survival guides will help you make it through safely. Costumes are encouraged, zombies are welcome, and FAFSA fears will be laid to rest.

What You Need to Know About Financial Aid Video
What will I need to fill out the FAFSA?
We will have computers available, but you are welcome to bring your own.
To complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®), you will need:
- Your Social Security Number and government identification(example: driver’s license)
- Your Alien Registration Number (if you are not a U.S. citizen)
- Your 2025 federal income tax returns, W-2s, and other records of money earned. (Note: You may be able to transfer your federal tax return information into your FAFSA using the Future Act Direct Data Exchange
(FA-DDX) - Current bank and brokerage account statements, including records of stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and other investments (if applicable)
- Records of nontaxable income, such as child support received, veterans’ non-education benefits, welfare benefits, or military/clergy allowances (if applicable)
- An FSA ID to sign electronically
If you are a dependent student, then you will also need most of the above information for your parent(s).
