HVAC: Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning – High School Trades Academy Option

High School Trades Academy Option for HVAC

The High School Trades Academy is a partnership with local public high schools in which high school seniors travel to the Middletown campus for dual enrollment opportunities. Upon successful completion of the coursework, students earn the HVAC Career Studies Certificates. Students may also earn OSHA 10 and EPA-CFC Certifications. Students learn concepts through hands-on projects and hone skills related to the field. Students make application for the program to their respective high schools and must meet all Laurel Ridge program prerequisites.

Degree Pathway Option

The Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Career Studies Certificate (CSC) prepares students for entry-level positions in the HVAC field. The class and lab experiences help the student develop skills to work with the installation, wiring, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and servicing of heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. Credits earned in this program can be applied towards the two-year Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Technical Studies degree.
