Carla Vergot fully intended to write books after earning her degree in English from NC State University in 1990. Since then, she contributed to various newsletters and magazines, including a column in The Piedmont Virginian, all without writing a single book. In 2016, during a sabbatical from her career teaching special education, Carla returned to her true calling and authored her first novel, Lily Barlow Book One: The Mystery of Jane Dough. She never went back to the classroom.
