Emergency Alerts Storm Clouds

Due to inclement weather, Laurel Ridge campuses are closed and classes are cancelled Wednesday, September 1, 2021.

Governor Ralph Northam has declared a state of emergency to respond to impacts from Tropical Depression Ida, which is expected to cause heavy rains and flooding along the I-81 and I-66 corridors. Flash flood watches are in effect at all three college locations.

For your safety, no students can visit the campus facilities on Wednesday, September 1, 2021.

Employees: Telework arrangements are suspended.

Credit Classes: Classes are cancelled. Please monitor your course on Canvas for any further information from your instructor.

Workforce Solutions/ Non-Credit Classes: In-person classes will not meet today. Please monitor possible communication (email or text) from your instructor for further information regarding your class.

In the case of inclement weather – regardless of the emergency closing announcement – all students and employees should use good judgment as to whether or not it is safe to travel.
