
1986 - Haley’s Comet and Women’s Fair
- More than 1,000 people come to campus the second week of the year to look for Haley’s Comet through telescopes set up on the lawn. A standing-room-only crowd comes to hear a talk from a NASA scientist about the comet.
- The first Women’s Fair is held. Featuring workshops and seminars, the daylong event is free to area women.
