HVAC: Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Apprenticeship, Journeymen, and Licensure Program

Enroll in our comprehensive HVAC program to kickstart or advance your career in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. Our curriculum satisfies the formal vocational training hours required before an individual can sit for licensing exams through Virginia’s Department of Professional and Occupational Regulations (DPOR).

The program offers four levels, but students can join at the level that suits their experience and needs. No prior coursework or industry experience is required to start Level 1, and you don’t need to be employed in HVAC to enroll. This hybrid program combines classroom learning, hands-on lab training, and online content, with classes held just one evening a week.

Level 1 covers essential topics such as safety, HVAC basics, construction math, tools, and reading construction drawings. As you advance to Levels 2-4, you’ll delve into HVAC trade math, piping techniques, soldering, basic electricity, heating and cooling systems, air distribution, and HVAC codes. Many students successfully balance full or part-time work while completing the program.
