Interested in pursuing career and internship possibilities? Then you’ll want to come by our Middletown Campus between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, in the Corron Community Development Center for our annual Career and Internship Fair featuring about 60 employers.
There will be representatives from a variety of career fields, including manufacturing, banking, tree care, electricity, healthcare, local government, education, HVAC, assisted living, the military and construction.
Laurel Ridge academic advisor and career services specialist Caroline Walls said the fair is open to both students and the public at large.
“As a community college, a good part of our population is going directly to the workforce after earning their associate degree, so this is hopefully a way to provide a smooth pathway right into their next steps,” she said. “For students who are planning to transfer, these early college years before major declaration are the most flexible time to explore different interests through diverse workplace experiences. This can help students discover what they truly want to pursue as a major and as a career.”
Both job seekers and local employers benefit from the fair, with many companies returning year after year.
“We have repeat customers in terms of employers because they do connect with students and find good fits here from our student body,” said Walls. “That’s what keeps bringing them back.”
Valley Health is a large-scale employer and a loyal fair attendee.
“Valley Health stands as one of the region’s largest employers, a trusted community partner, leading the way in clinical innovations,” said Lisa Spencer, manager of talent acquisition programs and academic partnerships for the health system. “We are committed to providing healthcare that is accessible, affordable, equitable and exceptional. Attending events such as this allows us to build talent pipelines of future healthcare professionals, who will continue our mission of serving our communities by improving health.”
Navy Federal Credit Union has also found attendance at the fair to be fruitful.
“Our team at Navy Federal Credit Union is always excited to attend the Laurel Ridge Community College career fair each year, as it’s been a great contributor to the growth of our Winchester Operations Center,” said J.R. Mondell, talent scout for TA Programs. “Over the years, we’ve added several exceptional team members who are current or former Laurel Ridge students.
“We look forward to participating this year and sharing more information about our internship and full-time employment opportunities with attendees and potential candidates.”
Victoria DeAngelis, a full-cycle recruiter with Spring Arbor Senior Living, said she is thrilled to take part in the career fair.
“This event isn’t just about recruitment—it’s about connecting with passionate students who are ready to take their first steps toward a rewarding career in healthcare,” she said. “As a company dedicated to caring for our most cherished generation – our seniors – we know that great caregivers start with great beginnings. This fair gives us the chance to inspire, guide, and support future nursing assistants as they embark on this meaningful journey. We can’t wait to meet students who share our heart for service and help them find a fulfilling career path in senior care.”
Those attending the fair will have the chance to win a $50 gift card. Learn more about the event at laurelridge.edu/careerfair.
