Harry Frederick Burroughs III was born in Riverhead, New York. He began his career in the U.S. House of Representatives on May 16, 1977. For 37 years, he worked for members of Congress, served as Republican Chief of Staff of the Merchant Marine and Fisheries Committee and the Staff Director of the House Subcommittee on Fisheries, Wildlife, Oceans and Insular Affairs. Since retiring, Harry has published nine books including The Tragic Story of Harris Neck, Ga and Rankin’s Place.
