Kimberly P. Blosser, Ed.D., was named Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs at Laurel Ridge Community College.  Blosser came to Laurel Ridge from Blue Ridge Community College in July 2012, where she held several positions, including Chief Information Officer, Dean of Math, Physical Sciences, and Technology, and Associate Professor of Information Systems Technology.

For the past three years, Blosser served as Laurel Ridge’s Associate Vice President of Instruction where she provided leadership to the academic unit on the Middletown campus, was responsible for the instructional program and personnel at the Luray-Page County Center and managed the program review process for all academic programs.  Blosser played a huge role in preparation of Laurel Ridge’s 5th year interim reporting with the Southern Association of Schools and Colleges-Commission on College (SACS-COC).

Blosser is excited to take on the challenges of her new role as Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs.  She comments, “Laurel Ridge is in the midst of some exciting new initiatives, including our new approach to awarding degrees through the attainment of competencies rather than just through college courses. We are working to make dual enrollment for high school students even more accessible than it already is and we are expanding our science, trades, and allied health program options to provide even more employment and transfer opportunities for all our students. Virginia’s focus on having students earn industry-recognized credentials is going to create an environment at Laurel Ridge where students move directly from certificates or degrees that embed certifications into great careers with good salaries. We are working on all of these new options while still being committed to providing excellent, personal service to our students. It’s a really exciting time to be working at Laurel Ridge.”

The Page County native earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and her Masters of Arts in Education from Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Virginia.  She earned a Masters of Science in Management Information Systems and a Doctorate of Education with a Concentration in Higher Education from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Blosser is a resident of Stanley, VA.
