Laurel Ridge provides technology support services through the Center for Excellence in Instructional Technology (CEITL) and Information Technology Services (ITS). You can view a summary of each department’s service offerings below.
CEITL
CEITL offers a variety of services to support the entire Laurel Ridge community. These services are designed to help individuals maximize the use of educational resources, like Canvas and Google Drive, develop effective strategies for learning and teaching through training and workshops, and enhance their overall experience at the college.
CEITL Services
Student Technology Support:
- Troubleshooting some college-provided applications (Respondus LockDown Browser, Microsoft Office, Zoom)
- Support for Canvas and Google Drive
Faculty and Staff Technology Support:
- Personalized training, instructional design support, basic technical support for third-party software, applications, and Canvas.
- Conducts in-class observations and provides instructional feedback upon request.
- Hosts workshops to equip attendees with tools to enhance teaching and workplace efficiency.
ITS
ITS provides a wide range of high-quality services to support the mission and technological needs of Laurel Ridge and its students, faculty, and staff. Services range from office equipment installation to college software deployment and support for account multifactor authentication (MFA).
ITS Services
Student Technology Support:
- VCCS account password resets
- Troubleshooting issues with Multifactor Authentication (MFA)
- Assistance with installing certain college-provided apps (Lockdown Browser, Examplify, Office 365)
- Training on creating a reservation for the Virtual Computing Library (VCL)
Faculty and Staff Technology Support:
- Deployment and support of software resources
- Installation and troubleshooting of classroom and office equipment
- Support for network infrastructure and connectivity
- Technology support for special events
