DESCRIPTION:Kindness Lives Here\n\n\n\nJoin us in celebrating Neighbor Week in honor of what would have been Fred Rogers’s 98th birthday on March 20. We have events celebrating kindness and neighborliness March 16-20. We think Mr. Rogers would approve of Laurel Ridge’s mission to provide a positive\, caring and dynamic learning environment that inspires student success\, values diversity and promotes community vitality! \n\n\n\nHelp Your Neighbors\n\n\n\nIn exchange for a donation – of an amount of your choosing – you are welcome to wear your comfiest pair of jeans all week. These donations will be split among three beneficiaries: \n\n\n\n\nTRiO – For those wishing to make non-monetary donations\, here is a listing of suggested items for the TRiO pantry: proteins\, such as canned tuna and chicken; peanut butter; bread; cereal; cooking oils; cleaning supplies; laundry detergent; dryer sheets; dish soap\n\n\n\nEmployee Emergency Assistance Fund\n\n\n\nParent Scholars Program\n\n\n\n\n\n\n        \n\n        \n\n\n\nBuy a Shirt\n\n\n\nAdditionally\, you can purchase a T-shirt designed by Larry Friedenberg\, with proceeds – about $9 for each shirt – going to the Laurel Ridge Educational Foundation. \n\n\n\n        \n            \n                Order a Neighbor Week Shirt            \n        \n\n\n\n\nIt’s a Beautiful Potluck in the Neighborhood \n\n\n\nOn Tuesday\, March 17\, bring your favorite dish\, snack\, dessert or activity to share as you welcome your coworkers to come visit your neighborhood (department) for Neighborhood Bites & Delights between 11:45 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. \n\n\n\n        \n            \n                Sign up for the Potluck            \n        \n\n\n\n\nExplore Your Neighborhood\n\n\n\nTake a walk with your work neighbors! \n\n\n\n\nLuray-Page County Center – 10 a.m.\, Tuesday\, March 17. Meet at the welcome desk for a walk down the sidewalk to the corner of Allison and General Drive led by Judy Suddith.\n\n\n\nFauquier Campus – noon\, Tuesday\, March 17. Meet in front of The Barn and walk through the buildings and outside along the connector trail with Kerry Kilpatrick and Nick Shomo as your guides.\n\n\n\nMiddletown Campus – 12:15 p.m.\, Thursday\, March 19. Meet in Cornerstone Hall behind the welcome desk and walk to the area around the Student Union Building with Poly Nesselrodt and Catherine Grunow leading the way.\n\n\n\n\nCelebrate with Your Neighbors\n\n\n\nJoin us for Neighbor Day Cardigans and Cupcakes at noon on Wednesday\, March 18. We’d love to take group pictures of employees in Mr. Rogers’s favorite item of clothing\, a cardigan.
