Working the front desk of a medical office requires strong organizational skills, professionalism and the ability to solve problems. Throughout this course, you will have the opportunity to learn about office reception skills, general day-to-day operations, and effective communication techniques. You will also perform routine tasks in an electronic medical records (EMR) training system to better prepare you for today’s job market. There will be a strong emphasis on Medical Terminology. Upon course completion, you will be qualified to sit for the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) exam offered by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). Program Requirements
Student must take Medical Terminology as a prerequisite to this class. Computer/Regular internet access is required for all Healthcare Fast-Track Career Training Programs. Programs will require both in-class and out-of-class learning.
In order to sit for an National Healthcareer Association (NHA) exam, students must have a High School Diploma, GED or are scheduled to earn a GED in the next 12 months.
